TRIGGER's edits

ARC SYSTEM WORKS Developer's comments

KILL la KILL -IF is now finally released! Hello everyone, I am Yamanaka of Arc System Works, the Producer for this game.
I hope everyone is enjoying this game! I must confess, it wasn't an easy journey working with hot-blooded master-class animators at TRIGGER, and this project itself has also had its own share of trouble.
In fact, it had undergone a total swap of its Producer and Director. When I received the end of the baton, the project had actually lost its direction in game design, and the graphic quality was seriously in a pretty bad shape.
It was literally only the passion and the love towards the original anime piece that kept the team going back then, and we worked tremendously hard together with A+, and of course with the support from TRIGGER, all the way from the ground up.
Mentally, it's also more damaging to the team's spirits to be destroying everything that had been done mid-way so as to make way to rebuild the project, and it's definitely more challenging than to make something totally new. Again, it was the passion, and the honour to be participating in making a game of one of the greatest animes in history, "Kill la Kill", as well as encouragement from fans from all over the world, that kept us developing even up till today.
We have certainly kept the fans waiting very long for this, but we are most glad that we are finally able to release the game to all of you players around the globe.
Fans of the original series, fans of fighting games, we hope you will enjoy this game. Oh, and also, stay tuned for more upcoming news on the DLC characters "Mako" and "Ultimate Double Naked DTR"! Thank you!
Hello, I am the main Director for developing KILL la KILL -IF, from A+, Mizota.
When I first received this project job, there had been only one thing in my mind - to make Satsuki shout out "Fear is freedom! Subjugation is liberation!
Contradiction is truth! Those are the facts of this world!"during battle.
Right now we have the Bloody Valor system in the game, but during the initial stages it was actually called "Speech Walk", and it was planned as a Rock-Scissors-Paper relationship with LRattack>Dash>Speech>LRattack.
However, we just couldn't make it a fun element as the core of the game, and had to botch it. Now that we have set it aside as a different flow from the regular battle mechanics, next we tried many ways to make it work - like a music game, a hi-speed RSP, etc., until it became what it is today. While there are definitely opinions from opposite camps regarding this mechanic, we feel that ultimately we have managed to replicate that hot-blooded feel from the anime series, so if you are interested to find out, there's also the free demo version so do try it out. It's a never-ending topic to the woes of developing, perhaps I'll save it for next time.
